Herbs and super foods for healthier liver and glowing skin

I’ve been with this health and wellness company for quite some time. I used to be a marketing strategist and have been exposed with different scientific facts. During those times, I find that the best way to keep your skin glowing is by cleansing your body. In order to do this, you should help the body’s main filter – the liver – to detoxify.

In this topic, I will enumerate the herbs and foods that can help your liver clean. And, here they are:

Malunggay – Internationally known as Moringa, Malunggay is one of the miracle herbs that is abundant in the Philippines. This is also found in some countries in Asia and Africa. Each and every part of this tree contains nutrients and enzymes that liver loves.

There are some traces in the very early civilization that moringa is used to treat and clean the liver. All Things Moringa noted that in early Europe, the tea produced by boiling moringa leaves and stem is used as liver tonic for people with cirrhosis.

Milk Thistle – Milk thistle has this active compound known as the sylimarin.  This is a very good agent in combating the peroxidation in the liver. There are also some studies proving the sylimarin triggers the liver to generate healthier cells faster and better than ordinary.

Artichoke – In 1850, according to, a French physician was able to cure a child suffering from jaundice by extracting artichoke leaves. The success leads into research about the plant revealing it’s liver-friendly compounds.

Research shows that the large leaves of artichoke contain active chemical compounds that helps the body. Particularly as antioxidant, liver-protective, bile-enhancing, and lipid-lowering effects.

Turmeric – Turmeric helps in increasing the flow of bile. It also has curcumin, an active compound that helps in the prevention of of liver inflammation and damage.

Spirulina –  This blue-green algae is one mother nature’s greatest creation. Aside from lowering the blood pressure, aid in digestion, lowering stroke risks and many more, spirulina also helps the liver cleanse and protect itself. It prevents the build up of of triglycerides in your liver, inhibits the lipids from peroxidation and preventing the liver from inflammation.

Dandelion – The roots of dandelion is best as tea. According to claims this is one of the most soothing tea in the planet. To the medical side, this is also best for cleansing your liver. Healthy Home Happy made a post about an experience about this wonderful plant. The author wrote that a daughter of her is allergic to everything. Then, a doctor advised her that this is a sign of a liver with toxin build-up. She then claimed that within just a day of drinking the tea, her daughter’s bowel turned very dark and allergies were gone.
