PASTO Eastwood Review

PASTO Eastwood Review

Bringing you “a taste of Italy”.

One Sunday night, after our boxing workout with my boxing buddies, we got really hungry. And, I was craving for an authentic Italian cuisine. So, we headed our way to PASTO Eastwood branch since it’s the nearest Italian restaurant; plus the fact they have variety of items but with menu focused entirely to Italian foods for very reasonable prices.

I want something to satisfy my pasta and pizza cravings. I am a very big fan of the PASTO’s place: the art decors, modern, dressed down look and it’s very cozy in red theme, I can say they have a great place where people can hang out with their friends. Anyway, onto the food we ordered:

Genovese.

I love Genovese. However, the Pasto’s version is somehow different from the usual. This one has overpowering shrimp and tomato sauce flavor. I think it would be better if they will just spread the aragula on top of the dish. The capellini, on the other hand was overcooked.

The Genovese is worth Php295. (Capellini with shrimps, aragula, pesto, and pine nuts in a tomato sauce)

The serving is pretty generous; it got a different mixture of the sauce, though I haven’t tasted the pesto but still very delicious, and it’s one of my favorite.

Arrabiata.

Arrabiata, I love the al dente of the pasta, but this is not my idea of arrabiata. The sauce was so thick, and it was not that spicy as I expect it to be but as what their menu says it is “mildly spiced tomato sauce”, anyway the bacon and garlic was very tasty and I like it.

The Arrabiata is worth Php195. (Penne with smoked bacon in a mildly spiced tomato sauce.)

They have their own version of cooking their pasta. It were not an authentic Italian cuisine anymore, but I am not disappointed. I still recommend trying their pasta and I will try more of their pasta.

Pasto Pizza.

Pasto Pizza, The slice of the pizza itself without the toppings would reach a hundred or two of calories but with everything on it can total the pizza calories awww just forget about counting calories, it was guiltless.

The Pasto Pizza is worth Php295. (Italian sausage, pepperoni, smoked ham, olives, tomatoes, bell pepper and mushrooms)

The food was fresh and tasty but the food serves really fast and we love it because we are really hungry that time not mentioning the price was really quite reasonable – the place did not get very crowded so it was very peaceful. Good for a large group (birthday, meetings etc) outside seats are good for the barkadas inuman or for some amore moment, you can also dine in here alone without the feeling of being lonely.

Overall, we had an awesome dining experience and would definitely return and will bring more friends.
