Sulit.com.ph, the party, the car

Accuse me of freebie addict, it’s ok, I am. Tell me I’m a sucker for promos, it’s alright, I love them, and if you thought I’m cheap, fine, that’s true. But, I’m one of a kind, I only love them when they are online (evil laugh).
Started last April 2012, the Sulit.com.ph, the largest website in the Philippines held a promo as part of it’s campaign “Ano Ang Hanap Mo?” where Sulitizens (website members) can become a part and share the promotional materials in exchange of thrilling prizes.
To summarize, here are the series of promos held:
- Sulit Ang Hanap Mo! Part 1: Share our TVC to have a shot at winning a New iPad & a 2012 Honda City!
- Sulit Ang Hanap Mo! Part 2: Win your dream gadget & a 2012 Honda City by telling us, ano hanap mo?
- Sulit Ang Hanap Mo! Part 3: Play the Sulit Coin Drop & win a Samsung Galaxy S III & 2012 Honda City!
- Sulit Ang Hanap Mo! Part 4: Play Sulit Flip n’ Match to win your dream gadget & a 2012 Honda City!
During that promo period, there are weekly winners of gadgets and in the grand draw one won the Honda City 2012. On September 11, the grand prize winner was announced and out of 5 million entries that were collected during the period, the lucky winner of the car was no other than ME!
Here is the video of announcement:
I felt like a superstar when the winner was announced. My Facebook notifications blew up and my cellphone didn’t stop beeping, my Sulit account also received so much attention with people sending me messages.
I was notified that there will be a party that will serve as an awarding ceremony for me to get the car.
On November 15, 2012, The Sulit City, the largest gathering of Sulitizens was held at the Eastwood Central Plaza, Quezon City. Members and even non-members of the website were all invited for this free event. This is also the time where I will officially receive my car.
I was asked to come at 6 p.m., because there will be a small briefing on how the party goes. Ms. Ava and Ms. Jean (Two beautiful organizers) said to me that I was a part of the program, which is actually quite cool.
How Sulit City Goes?

The Sulit City starts with the registration where you will be given a ticket as a pass to the exciting treats. This will also serve as your entry to the raffle where Sulit is giving away five iPhone 5s, three iPod touch devices and two iPad minis.
The treats are photo booth, ice cream, face painting, Sulit Hoops (basketball) and free beers. You must complete all the treats in order to qualify to some raffle. There are also free popcorn, Sulit account secured checking, Volkswagen start up where you can win prizes if you are successful in starting the car. You can also buy some products to some booths in different industries like souvenirs, beauty, corporate giveaways and many more.

After a few hours of letting the Sulitizens roam around the place, the program kicks with some talk from the hosts, Jessica Mendoza and Tyler Ramos followed by an opening remark from RJ David, the founder of the website. After was the performance of a band, some raffle and awarding of the huge car key with Sulit logo to me by Sir RJ, Ms. Arianne (co-founders), Me-Ann Bundalian (Manager) and some representatives from Honda Kalookan.

During the awarding, it’s the first time that media men are taking pictures of me. They even asked me to pose in front of the car with the founder and representatives. They also asked me to have my pictures taken inside the car. Again, quite cool.
I asked sir RJ if I can keep the key and he didn’t hesitate to grant the favor. The key is now displayed in my room and I even covered it with plastic to preserve it.
There is also a special participation from Lourd De Veyra, the face of the campaign. He let us all play the “Bring Me” game where the five people who successfully brought the items that he asked will have a chance get an iPhone 5 in the “Amazing Race” game.
There is also a Tweeting game where you have to use the hashtag #SulitCity, follow Sulit.com.ph and convince them why you should win one of the iPad Mini.
The person with the coolest photo booth picture also won a gadget (too bad the first one left the place early).
Probably, one of the main highlights of the event was the performance of the band Up Dharma Down where people even from the residing establishments mobbed up in the venue just to witness Armi Millare sing. Me too, I’m a fan and she just prove to me that she’s really great.
The beautiful DJ Nina wrapped up the night.
As a comment, I found the Sulit City as a great event. The things coming in to my mind is that there are chairs and tables around, but it’s not. Its great as the event looked like an amusement park where people can play, roam and fool around. Only geniuses can formulate those kinds of event.
I also love the giveaways, they way people reacted when their names were called. It’s hypocrisy to say that you don’t want a free gadget.
Me, my cousin and two sisters left the place driving my new car. To be honest, it’s the first time I rode a brand new car and take note, I own it.
We arrived home at 1:30 a.m. where my mother and father didn’t sleep. They are with my nieces who are also waiting for the car to arrive. My parents are quite excited on a way that they made a festive-impromptu car cover and didn’t sleep until the sun rose. They are more excited than I am.
Well, having my own car doesn’t stop me from dreaming the things I wanted to achieve. In fact doing things that a car owner usually do (cleaning the car) makes me experience the feeling of having a ride. I am now more inspired to do the things that I know can make me achieve the financial status that everyone wanted to have.
Toys for the big boys are prizes for the good boys.
Thank you so much Sulit.com.ph (Sir RJ and Ms. Arrianne) firstly, for the car and secondly, the business that you gave me. After the Sulit City, a stone hits two birds, I got the car and I’ve been receiving calls inquiring about the products I’m selling while referrals to my opportunity businesses numbered.
To the organizers of the Sulit City, specially to Ms. Me-Anne, Ms. Ava and Ms. Jean, among others, you guys did a monstrous job and you deserve some pampering. The event is one of kind and I am looking forward to the next event.
And, of course, to God. Thanks for answering all my prayers.
